Something about us

Turning off a street lined with billboards and peculiar buildings, and following a secluded road, one arrives at the world of nature.

In nature, one can feel a healing energy that soothes the mind and body. Over the past two years, we have repeatedly ventured into forests, beaches, and mountains, exploring the natural spaces surrounding the city. However, upon returning to the city, faced with the constant flow of traffic, the hustle and bustle of crowds, and the intricate structures and networks, the energy gained from nature gradually dissipates within our bodies.

Yet even in places labeled as nature, traces of human intervention are often present. The expansion of human activity has divided the natural areas surrounding cities into isolated islands. At the same time, the cities and settlements where most of us live are themselves enveloped by the vast and intricate natural world. Over the long course of the future, can humanity achieve a dynamic balance with nature? We do not know. However, it seems unlikely that individuals can live exclusively in purely artificial or purely natural environments.

In this complex interplay of the artificial and the natural, what I focus on is our position as small, individual beings caught between the two. While exploring these in-between spaces, I try to sense the moments when energy flows and capture them in photographs based on those feelings.
